Kathryn Bentley is a Boston-based artist and cake decorator. With a primary focus in edible sugar sculpture, watercolor painting and digital art, she is known for her fine detail work and stylistic range.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved working in visual mediums: pencil sketches, colored pencil, paints, sculpture - if it could be used to create art, I wanted to try it. When I first discovered cake decorating at age 11, I was hooked.

The challenge of replicating real life objects in exclusively edible materials, while still ending up with a delicious dessert, has been an endless source of joy for nearly two decades. More than that, I love working with clients to create thoroughly unique centerpieces for their most important celebrations and milestone moments, capturing the elements they love best about themselves, friends, coworkers or family in the most delightfully memorable way.

Currently I offer a range of commission-based services ranging from character art, cover art, children’s book illustration, and portraiture, to cakes, and shippable custom cookies and cupcake toppers.
